I really love The Witches！ This is a reread for me but it has been awhile。 I have also seen the film and loved it but the book will always be my favorite！ The story follows a young boy named Luke that lost his parents in an accident and went to live with his Grandma。 Luke's Grandma tells lots of stories and most are about witches and how to recognize them。 After a health issue with Grandma， Luke and her went to stay at a seaside hotel for a holiday。 It is there Luke accidentally stumbles on the I really love The Witches！ This is a reread for me but it has been awhile。 I have also seen the film and loved it but the book will always be my favorite！ The story follows a young boy named Luke that lost his parents in an accident and went to live with his Grandma。 Luke's Grandma tells lots of stories and most are about witches and how to recognize them。 After a health issue with Grandma， Luke and her went to stay at a seaside hotel for a holiday。 It is there Luke accidentally stumbles on the entire coven of witches from the UK。 No spoilers！ I definitely recommend this book！ It can be a little creepy for the very young but I have found all kids grow up loving this book！ 。。。more

One of my all time favourite Roald Dahl's but ironically and I NEVER say this but I actually preferred the ending of the 1990 movie。 When a little boy's parents die he is looked after by his grandmother， moving from Norway to England his gran becomes very ill and has to recuperate so they go to a grand hotel for a holiday where they stumble upon a group of witches plotting to kill all the children of the world。He is turned into a mouse but he doesn't let that stop him and he and his grandmother One of my all time favourite Roald Dahl's but ironically and I NEVER say this but I actually preferred the ending of the 1990 movie。 When a little boy's parents die he is looked after by his grandmother， moving from Norway to England his gran becomes very ill and has to recuperate so they go to a grand hotel for a holiday where they stumble upon a group of witches plotting to kill all the children of the world。He is turned into a mouse but he doesn't let that stop him and he and his grandmother are soon scheming to actually overthrow the witches themselves。 Told in only the way Dahl could carry off a crazy story like this， this will appeal to kids （and adults） and is great reading especially for this time of year。Brilliant fun。 。。。more

This was really great。 I should have read it years ago， but wasn’t allowed to as a kid。 I always forget just how influential Dahl was on Western storytelling until I sit down and read one of his books。 All in all， a fun， short， but very entertaining story about a boy hanging out with his grandma。

I love Roald Dahl and want to read all of his books。 It seemed fitting to read this one in October。 It’s really cute， funny， and the audiobook is amazing！ Not my favorite RD， but it’s a good one。

Nunca había leído a Roald Dahl， y eso que es autor muy conocido de varias historias que forman parte de mi infancia y de la de tantísimos en todo el mundo。 Pero nunca es tarde， dicen。 Es este caso， claro había visto la película de 1990， pero igualmente disfruté la historia muchísimo。'Las Brujas' es una estupenda novela corta de brujas， un clásico infantil perfectamente disfrutable a cualquier edad。 Es una historia genuinamente de brujas， como dije antes， perfecta para （re）leer en estas fechas de Nunca había leído a Roald Dahl， y eso que es autor muy conocido de varias historias que forman parte de mi infancia y de la de tantísimos en todo el mundo。 Pero nunca es tarde， dicen。 Es este caso， claro había visto la película de 1990， pero igualmente disfruté la historia muchísimo。'Las Brujas' es una estupenda novela corta de brujas， un clásico infantil perfectamente disfrutable a cualquier edad。 Es una historia genuinamente de brujas， como dije antes， perfecta para （re）leer en estas fechas del mes de octubre， por Halloween。 Tiene una trama interesante， conmovedora， de horror incluso en ciertos puntos acompañado por ilustraciones que estoy seguro que abrían asustado a mi yo de niño。 Es también una narración muy divertida con risas aseguradas。La superrecomiendo si estáis dudando en si leer este libro o no。 En mi Club de Lectura tenemos como temática este mes: «brujas»; y siento que no he podido leer mejor obra。Si bien le di 4/5 estrellas es porque el final -SPOILERS- no me convenció del todo。 Que sé que tampoco tiene que ser algo muy atado y tal， pero tras relatar el plan que iban a llevar a cabo me han dejado con muchas ganas de MÁS y no puedo evitar sentir que le faltan algunos capítulos más， un epílogo， o directamente el último capítula sobra。 De todas formas， es una gran （'pequeña'） obra。🖤🧙🏻‍♀️ 。。。more
